Early edition, rebound, spine date begins with "18", otherwise undated. Modern ochre cloth slipcase has light wear including a light, US quarter-sized stain on one side. Brown leather cover has a modern Mylar dust wrap (unattached), gilded spine and edge decoration is in very good condition with a few faint scratches. Page edge gilding is clean and bright. The front flyleaf has two binder marks, some letters are unclear, "R. Wallis Binder" (top), "Bound for C.S. Lauriat C.S. Boston" (bottom). Rear printer's page states "London: Vizetelly Brothers and Co., Printers and Engravers, Peterborough Court, Fleet Street. Endpapers are an even dark blue-green. 22 hand-colored illustrations are clear and bright. Pages are lightly tanned with a few minor soil spots and smudges, no tears or other damage.
